1.5 Handy Features Available from the Main Menu
ShutterBug contains some practical features that are only accessible from the main
menu. The following is an outline and brief description of these features:
Under the File Menu:
Save with Comment
Saving with a comment lets you add some recognizable commentary to accompany
the particular Save, so you can easily identify it later in the Revert file list.
Save As
With this addition, you no longer have to copy and paste ShutterBug files to make
copies with different names.
Open Recent
The Open Recent feature stores the ten most recent files you've used in ShutterBug
for fast access.
Revert
The revert feature lets you revert back to one of the previous Saves you made in the
event you make a mistake or want an older version of your site back. Revert will bring
up a history of saves you have performed for the file you are working on, allowing you
to go back to a previously saved copy of your website. If you have saved with a
comment, you will be able to run through the list and quickly identify which copy you're
looking for. Undo will be added to a future version of ShutterBug.
Rebuild Entire Site
Rebuilding your site is helpful when you are opening an old ShutterBug site that was
created in an old version of ShutterBug. Rebuild will detect any discrepancies between
different ShutterBug versions, and rebuild your content and photos, without harming
anything, to make the site compatible with the ShutterBug version you are currently
using. Note: ShutterBug is not backwards compatible - you cannot build a site in a
current ShutterBug version, and then go back and open it in an older version.
Under the Tools Menu:
Add/Remove Watermarks
This feature opens the Watermark panel and lets you add, edit, and delete watermarks
for your photo albums. All options available for watermarks are contained within this
panel. You must be in Content mode in order to access the Watermark panel.
Import/Export Theme (also available from the Theme Library window)
Import will apply the imported theme onto your current site. Export will save the current
theme out to the selected destination on your computer. You can import and export
your own creations or modified themes, as well as share themes with other ShutterBug
users. You must be in Preview mode to use the Import and Export feature from the
main menu.
You can also import and export themes from the Theme Library window, which offers
more options and allows for storing and organizing the imported themes in your library.
The option to import and export themes from the main menu is handy for the instances
you are outside of the theme library window and just want to do a quick import/export
directly to and from your site in the Preview window.
Show Last Activity
The activity window is a log that will show you what happened when you exported your
website during a current session; or in other words, the activity of your most recent
export during an open project. It will show you all the files that were exported for that
session only; it does not show past exports or a historical timeline of export activity.
The activity window is the same window that you see after you hit Export or Send. If
you haven't exported anything, the log will be empty. It is mainly used for information
purposes and can serve as a troubleshooting tool if needed.
Under the Help Menu:
Reporting Bugs
This is XtraLean's own custom built-in bug reporter for efficient and informative bug
reporting measures with ShutterBug. The bug reporter form records pertinent
information needed to nail down the cause of potential bugs and gets submitted
directly to XtraLean's R&D department. You can include your email address if you want
to be contacted about the issue submitted.
More Themes
Click this menu item to go off to ShutterBugLand where you can download more free
themes. These themes are in addition to the themes already located in the built-in
theme library and are available to registered ShutterBug users only. You will also be
able to share your themes with other ShutterBug users via ShutterBugLand as well as
at our support boards.
